About the Project
The client was planning on launching her budgeting app Habit Money in Q1 of 2024. She came to me for help building her presence on Instagram and TikTok before the launch. She hadn't been very active on social media before, so she wanted advice. The goal was to start promoting her brand's ideas, connect with her target audience, and get people excited about Habit Money's upcoming release. By providing strategic guidance suited for her ideal customers on those platforms, we worked to establish extensive reach in preparation for when her brand officially launched.
Approach:
To build her expertise and personal brand, I took a strategic approach with her social media content. For the Instagram carousel posts, I highlighted Jessica's daily routines and provided educational tips on budgeting and reducing money stress. These longer posts allowed for in-depth teaching. For the Instagram Reels, the focus was on showcasing Jessica's personality through relatable stories, customer testimonials, and quick bits of money advice.
The short videos let her friendly, authentic side shine through. Combining these two content types - the educational carousels and the personable Reels - helped position her as both a knowledgeable expert and a likable, down-to-earth figure in the personal finance space. This balanced approach aimed to grow an engaged following excited about the upcoming Habit Money brand launch.
What We Did:
My process with my client involved close collaboration using Notion to make communication easy. First, I did a deep analysis of her competitors in the personal finance and budgeting space to understand what strategies were working well and where there were gaps. My client and I then had detailed conversations about the types of content that fit her brand vision and would be truly helpful for her target audience. We worked together to decide on themes, formats, and an overall approach that played to her strengths while filling a unique need.
Deliverables:
For this project, I created 21 pieces of content for her to share on Instagram, including Reels and Carousel Posts. I also made detailed plans for her to share frequent, short updates through Instagram Stories. The content focused on her expertise in budgeting and personal finance to help build her reputation in these areas
Results:
One of the main goals she had during this project was to increase the reach she had on instagram to build up interest in her Habit Money application. In the 1 ish months we were working together, we were able to significantly increase the amount of reach she was receiving on Instagram. The amount of profile visits and outbound clicks was also increased as well.
