Organizing an event as big as TEDx in an university as big as
St. Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru comes with many moving parts, and one of our biggest challenges was efficiently managing ticket sales and attendee data collection.
In the past, we relied on Excel sheets and Google Forms to handle payments (don’t even ask how my seniors managed that! 😅). On top of that, for our previous TEDx event, we spent ₹30,000 on a ticketing system and website—only to face numerous inefficiencies. The system was far from seamless, and last year’s team encountered several challenges while using it.
One of our biggest challenges was access to real-time data. Several teams within the organizing committee relied on live ticket sales numbers to make decisions. Previously, we were dependent on our software provider ( we had to call them personally every time for data ) to provide this data, which led to significant delays during last year’s event.
To solve this, I built a custom ticketing system called Oasis that automated the entire process—right from ticket purchases to attendee data collection. The system ensured:
✅ Smooth ticket distribution with instant confirmations
✅ Custom data collection for personalized attendee experiences
✅ Seamless check-ins on the day of the event
The impact?
🔹 Reduced manual effort and human errors
🔹 Faster registrations and real-time attendee insights
🔹 Improved overall event experience for both organizers and attendees
