Project Overview: A coffee roaster in Andalusia sought my assistance in reaching a broader audience while retaining its artisanal brand values. The founder wanted to increase sales but was wary of losing the company’s authentic, small-batch appeal. They needed strategic guidance on scaling up without sacrificing quality.
My Role and Approach: Serving as both advisor and product coach, I worked with the founder to identify growth opportunities that aligned with their brand ethos. We analysed the local and online coffee markets, pinpointing where artisanal products were most sought-after. I guided them in creating a tiered product strategy to reach various customer segments, from local cafés to online consumers, while preserving their unique story and sourcing practices.
Specific Changes and Improvements:
Established an online subscription model for premium customers, allowing loyal customers to receive monthly curated coffee deliveries, which increased customer retention.
Partnered with select high-end hotels and restaurants in Andalusia, providing wholesale coffee to elevate brand visibility.
Designed eco-friendly packaging, aligning with the roaster's values and attracting environmentally conscious consumers.
Growth Strategy: We established a replicable business model tailored to small roasters, targeting specific regional markets with quality-focused offerings. This system is now set to expand to other Spanish regions, ensuring controlled growth that maintains the brand’s artisanal essence while capturing new markets.
Results: The new subscription model increased monthly revenue by 30%, while the partnerships doubled brand exposure in Andalusia’s luxury hospitality sector. This strategic, area-focused approach is helping the business grow sustainably while establishing a lasting reputation for quality and authenticity.
