A pair of entrepreneurs reached out to me to help polish and craft their commercial product strategy. The offering was a new possibility due to recent regulatory legislation. We identified the following key business questions as the scope of work:
What opportunities exist given the regulatory updates as outlined in the new Transparency in Coverage ruling?
How does this impact providers, insurers, and consumers?
What actions does each party need to take?
How does each party stand to benefit?
How does this differ from existing price transparency tools today?
What, if any, potential competitors exist currently or will exist?
How does this create opportunity for vendors or third-parties?
What critical features are needed to ensure the product/service is functional or actionable to end-users?
Who are the potential customers for aforementioned product/services?
What are the potential barriers to entry for a vendor or third-party vs insurer / provider?
