About the project

A fast-growing e-commerce brand relied heavily on Instagram DMs to engage with customers, but had no automation to convert those conversations into real leads or sales.
Everything was manual, inconsistent, and impossible to scale. The brand needed a lightweight but powerful automated funnel that could capture qualified leads, segment them correctly, and follow up instantly — without increasing team workload.

Solution

I built a fully automated DM-to-Email lead funnel powered by ManyChat, Zapier, ActiveCampaign, Slack, and Google Sheets.
The system captures, segments, and processes leads automatically — from the first Instagram message to personalized email delivery and internal alerts.

How the Automation Works

1. Lead Capture via Instagram DM (ManyChat) Users start a short conversational quiz in Instagram DMs.
The bot collects:
Who the gift is for (woman / man / child)
Budget range (e.g. <$25, $25–50, $50–100, $100+)
Name and email
Conversation history (optional)
2. Data Processing & Segmentation (Zapier) Zapier receives quiz data and:
Creates or updates a contact in ActiveCampaign
Applies segmentation tags and custom fields
Triggers the correct email automation
Sends a Slack alert with lead details
Logs the lead in Google Sheets with answers and timestamp
3. Personalized Email Automation (ActiveCampaign)
Instant personalized welcome email
Tailored gift guide based on quiz answers
Discount code and clear CTA
Automated next-day follow-up if no interaction occurs
