The Studio is one of the seven modules in Lecom's platform, functioning as the operational brain of the system. It provides the necessary activities and background information to ensure the proper functioning of the Workspace module.

The daily users of the Studio include members of Lecom's teams, partners, and clients.

Users need to easily identify the status of activities and access the editing page effortlessly. They should be able to independently utilize displayed data, navigate seamlessly between different areas and create new activities and workflows as needed.​​​​​​​

Lecom Tecnologia is a brazilian company focused on intelligent Business Process Management (BPM). Their product consists in a intuitive platform that helps other companies improve their efficiency, sustainable growth and and optimize workflows across all operational areas. Lecom is recognized for its customer-centric approach, delivering  solutions that meet the unique needs of businesses and clients across Brazil and beyond.

The original layout differed a lot from the other modules of the platform

It was dated and confusing, lacking clarity on the information display

The personas I developed for the Studio redesign were built on insights from a comprehensive study conducted during the creation of Lecom AI. This study explored how modelists build processes, navigate tools, and apply strategies, allowing us to profile their needs, pain points, and challenges in detail. These highly detailed personas guided the design process, ensuring that each decision reflected the real experiences of our users. By grounding the design in research, we created an interface that directly addressed user frustrations and improved overall usability.

User research was conducted in two phases—July and November—through prototype presentations and user evaluations. In November, users rated the existing Studio interface and the new prototype across categories such as navigation, visual appeal, and overall satisfaction. The results revealed significant improvements, with the new interface receiving much higher ratings in intuitiveness and design, reflecting a shift from descriptors like "complex" and "outdated" to "modern," "intuitive," and "organized."

Users also praised the way the research and presentations were conducted. Key feedback gathered during evaluations was documented and integrated into the final design, ensuring user needs were prioritized throughout the process.

Benchmarking was essential to the project’s development. Together with the UX designer, I participated in multiple benchmarking sessions to analyze competitor platforms and relevant interfaces, informing our design decisions and contributing to the growth of Lecom’s design system.
