Edward River Village | Design Campaign

The Brief
We were asked to create a series of advertisements (Facebook, newspaper) for this soon-to-be launched retirement village situated in the Riverina area of New South Wales, AU. ERV were aiming for a mature, elderly audience to be attracted to their new homes and community, so they asked for a professional yet fun advertising campaign to match their brand.
The Approach
Since these advertisements were part of the client's initial launch, it was important that their brand identity was accurately portrayed throughout. They wanted a mix of bright, fun colours mirrored with quality lifestyle images of active senior citizens. Lucky for us, they had plenty of photos from a recent photoshoot, so it was quite easy to work with their preferences.
Facebook Ads
We decided to tackle the Facebook ads first. Designing Facebook ads is quite straightforward and allows us to present a variety of different styles for the client to choose from. Our plan was a simple design of a few feature images paired with their campaign slogan. Clear, clean and easy to read when scrolling on screens of all sizes.
The client was quite pleased with these, and after a few minor edits, we had a solid understanding of what they were looking for. We then moved on to the newspaper ads.
Newspaper Ads
They requested a half-page and full-page spread for the local paper, as it was a likely medium for their target audience. Here we had some more room to get creative while including additional details about the project. In the end, we decided relaxed images would better suit the general atmosphere of the retirement village/business brand.
The client was very pleased with the quality of the ads and said that they contributed towards a successful launch.
Using their striking brand colours as a background, we layered the information over the top of the featured images. The headline was designed to grab their audience's attention with an alluring question before leading to all the necessary information to enquire further.
