AccessFit 24/7: Platform Rescue & Modernisation

🧭 Project Overview

I was engaged to rescue AccessFit 24/7, a gym access-control platform, after the original development team departed with no handover and no documentation. I took sole ownership of three unfamiliar repositories spanning web, mobile and backend, stabilised the platform, rebuilt critical access functionality and brought it to a pilot-ready release.

🎯 Project Objectives

Take control of an undocumented codebase across three repositories with zero handover. Restore reliability of member access, the platform's core function, deliver the native BLE/NFC door access the previous build never completed, and bring infrastructure spend down to a sustainable level.

📱 Key Capabilities

Native BLE and NFC door access from the member mobile app, enabling 24/7 unstaffed gym entry. Member credential and account management through the mobile experience, with operator visibility over access events and membership status.

🔧 Technical Approach

Full codebase archaeology and documentation across web, mobile and backend repos, with native BLE/NFC integration engineered for reliable hardware door control. Infrastructure was consolidated and right-sized on the existing Next.js, Supabase and Flutter stack, delivered solo end-to-end across architecture, engineering, testing and release preparation.

🚀 Key Results

Platform recovered and stabilised with no prior handover or documentation. Native BLE/NFC access delivered across three repositories, infrastructure costs reduced by around 70%, and a pilot-ready release prepared for launch with the founding team.
