The problem

The School of Engineering, Design and Built Environment at Western Sydney University wanted a professional way to show final-year and research projects in architecture, engineering and design. It needed something that worked all year, not just at open days, graduate shows and industry showcases.

My role

Through ARK360, I led the work from discovery to launch: design, build and hosting. I ran design-led discovery with wireframes and clickable prototypes, working with the faculty and the university's branding team.

What I built

An online portal with individual project pages for each student, with media, descriptions, downloadable artefacts and links to related research.
A VR gallery, built with Kunstmatrix, that gives visitors a spatial tour of student work in a browser or a VR headset.
A secure content management area, so university staff can add and update projects themselves.
The portal runs on Duda for pages, content management and hosting, and works on desktop, mobile and VR. I designed it to WCAG accessibility standards and the university's cybersecurity protocols.

Outcomes

The portal launched ahead of the faculty's end-of-year showcase.
Student work now has a year-round home outside in-person events.
The university has a flexible framework it can reuse for future exhibitions and research presentations.
