Água Salgada is a Portuguese swimwear brand, which is inspired by the most beautiful beaches in the world to create unique collections that reflect each beach personality.

Is an authentic brand created with the philosophy of freedom, feeling the moment, personal self-acceptance, making women feel confident, comfortable and feminine with the sexy curves that only women have.

Brand purpose and message

At Água Salgada, the environment comes first. We value sustainability and put our principles into action. One of the most important ways we do this is through recycling. When producing our bikinis and swimsuits, we use recycled fabrics made from fishing nets harvested from the oceans.

This initiative fills us with gratitude, as we know that a small gesture can not only help clean up the oceans, but also protect marine life from one of its biggest enemies: fishing nets! It all starts with healthy seas, an organization in collaboration with the fishing industry and volunteer divers that collect lost nets from the bottom of the sea.

These nylon fishing nets are then recycled and spun into yarn by Econyl, a company that supplies this material to our fabric manufacturers. These fabrics are carefully selected by Água Salgada for the production of our bikinis, which are lovingly used by our customers.

8 million tons of waste are dumped in the oceans every year, including 640,000 tons of fishing nets. These data are alarming and indicate that, if we do not change our behavior, by 2050 the sea could contain more garbage than fish. It's a shocking reality, don't you think?

That's why healthy seas' work is so important! Since its foundation in 2013, they have recovered 515 tons of fishing nets, giving them a new life. As a brand, we pride ourselves on working with companies that source recycled materials.

We believe it is critical to adopt sustainable production practices that will make a significant difference in the short and long term. Protecting the planet is everyone's responsibility. If everyone does their part, together we can create a better future.
