Emphasizing quality and sustainability, MetaFur sourced materials from artisans in Jaipur since 2017. With a commitment to making luxury affordable, MetaFur ensures every piece reflects modern aesthetics and comfort, making furniture shopping a delight.

Overview

Buying furniture online presents challenges, ranging from concerns about product quality to the inability to visualize items in one's space. MetaFur aims to bridge this gap by offering a seamless online shopping experience, blending luxury with accessibility. With a focus on sustainability and cutting-edge technology, MetaFur strives to replicate the in-store shopping experience, making furniture shopping effortless and enjoyable for everyone.

The Problem

Shopping for furniture online comes with inherent challenges:
1. Disconnect from the product: Customers can't touch or visualize products in their space.
2. Huge investment: Concerns about shipping costs and returns deter potential buyers.
3. In-store experience: Online shopping lacks the tactile experience and personalized assistance of physical stores.
4. Assembly challenges: DIY assembly can be daunting for some customers.

The Challenge

MetaFur's existing website failed to reflect its brand vision and address customer concerns. The challenge was to create a new e-commerce platform that mirrors the in-store shopping experience while resolving common pain points to drive website traffic and enhance accessibility.

User Interviews

Conducting in-depth user interviews provided valuable insights into the motivations, preferences, and pain points of furniture shoppers. We interviewed a diverse range of users, from young professionals to families, to understand their unique perspectives and behaviors when shopping for furniture online.
Key Findings:
Nearly half of the interviewees have bought furniture online and are interested in doing so again. Additionally, the COVID-19 pandemic has made online shopping more appealing to many people, as it allows them to avoid going to physical stores and is highly convenient.
Reasons why people prefer shopping online:
The convenience of being able to shop from home
The ability to easily compare prices and options from multiple retailers
The potential for finding better deals or a wider selection of products online, and the ability to easily purchase items from out-of-town or international retailers.
Some people use e-commerce furniture sites for getting inspiration for their spaces.
Pain points:
The difficulty in accurately assessing the quality or appearance of furniture from online photographs or descriptions.
The potential for furniture to arrive damaged or not as expected and the potential hassle with returns or exchanges.
The challenge of coordinating delivery and assembly
Some people may find the process of researching and comparing different furniture options online to be overwhelming or time-consuming.

Solution

For Users:
Immersive Visual Experience: Engage customers with high-quality images and 360-degree product views, providing an in-depth exploration of each item.
Detailed Product Information: Address customer concerns by offering comprehensive details, including dimensions and materials, enhancing confidence in online purchases.
Personalized Recommendations: Enhance user experience with AI-driven suggestions tailored to individual preferences and browsing history.
Shop the Room Feature: Simplify the shopping journey with curated collections and sets, enabling customers to envision cohesive room designs effortlessly.
Moodboards/Lookbooks: Inspire customers with curated moodboards and lookbooks, offering additional design inspiration and guidance.
Assembly and Care Instructions: Provide comprehensive assembly and care instructions for each product on the product page, ensuring a seamless post-purchase experience.
Easy Navigation: Improve user accessibility through intuitive navigation, categorizing products by divisions, rooms, similar items, featured items, and search functionality.
For the Business:
Enhanced Analytics: Implement advanced analytics tools to gather insights into customer behavior, preferences, and trends, enabling data-driven decision-making and targeted marketing strategies.
Showcase More Product Options: Increase product visibility and encourage exploration by prominently featuring sections like "Shop the Room," "Collection," and "Trending," enticing customers to discover and purchase additional items.
Dedicated Sections for Marketing: Create dedicated sections and pages on the website to run digital marketing and influencer campaigns, amplifying brand reach and engagement among target audiences.
Optimized Website Performance: Optimize the website for faster loading times and streamlined operations, enhancing user experience and reducing bounce rates, ultimately leading to higher conversion rates.
Fixed Bar for Coupons and Deals: Introduce a fixed bar or section on the website to display ongoing coupons, promotions, and deals, prompting customers to avail themselves of offers and incentivizing purchases.
