Hunchy Hills Distillery is a female-led distillery nestled in the lush hinterlands of Queensland, Australia. When the founder reached out to us, she was struggling with a brand identity that didn’t represent her story — one that felt overly masculine, generic, and disconnected from the essence of her business.

We stepped in to reshape the entire experience from visual identity to packaging and a fully custom Shopify storefront honoring her roots, personality, and the craft behind every bottle.

The distillery’s original branding was created by a designer based in Australia, but it leaned heavily into a rugged, masculine aesthetic. After a closer look, it became apparent that the brand mark was adapted from several stock logo sources, repurposed and sold as part of a premium branding package.

The result lacked originality, authenticity, and the warmth that reflected the founder’s story as a woman-led business in a traditionally male-dominated industry. She needed a fresh start with a brand that felt more honest, refined, and distinctly hers.

We refined Hunchy Hills Distillery’s identity with a feminine, artisanal touch. The new intertwined “H” monogram and floral motifs bring an air of elegance, complemented by a rich palette of Columbia Blue, Night Blue, and Copper Brown — striking a balance between femininity and masculinity.

To elevate storytelling, we collaborated with artist Vanessa Perske to transform her artworks into collectible pieces, with each label capturing the unique flavour and character of the gin inside.
