Short project description:

A credit search and granting channel where you can evaluate offers from multiple institutions by managing all necessary documentation online. With a 100% digital, fast, secure, private, and bureaucracy-free process in less than 30 days (the dream).

The mission:

I was the designer in charge of conceptualizing the entire UX/UI by combining technologies and channels used to create a friendly and fluid interface. During the process, different use cases and improvements were identified and designed considering feedback from our users, requests from key partners, and any technical limitations that might occur in the B2B and B2C platforms that comprised the project.

Identified Problems:

The financial market for mortgages and consumer loans in Latin America mainly suffers from:
A slow and exclusionary process (90+ days for mortgages).
Mandatory procedures in branches for the delivery and signing of necessary documentation.
You must have an almost perfect credit history and belong to the system.
Non-transparent interest rates without a monitoring mechanism.
Institutions provide generic interest rates as initial offers without considering your credit profile.

Solutions:

Credit campaign management platform with the possibility of hyper-segmentation to provide the best possible offer to users based on their needs and credit information.
Administrators can review the performance of their campaigns, and executives have an extensive analytics dashboard.
Platform for commercial executives that allows online chatting with clients, managing necessary documentation, and guiding them through each step of the process.
Platform for clients that always receive the best offers from various credit institutions and can choose the one that best suits their interests.

Design System:

A system of reusable components was created, guided by atomic design principles used in all created platforms, accelerating development and design iterations, ensuring scalability and consistency.

Analytics:

70,000 users on the client platform.
User acquisition cost of approximately 1 USD.
1/4 negotiations resulted in acquired credits.

Reflection:

This was the project that quickly introduced me to the world of startups and the associated roller coaster. It also gave me a critical look at how the credit world works in Chile and the bureaucracy associated with it in Latin America. Regarding UX, presenting flows and proposals for functionalities and interactions to your team is a fundamental part of the process, but it's not the Holy Grail. Many times we implement functionalities thinking we were right when we were simply blinded by all the product knowledge we had. Believing in the user, focusing on analytics, and results will tell us much more than our own beliefs. (and the boss isn't always right; the data is).
