CultureLancer — Two sides, one live platform. UI/UX & product design system, 2024.
What They Came With
A brand, and no product. Logo, typography and colour existed; no UX direction, no design system, no rules for how anything behaved.
Never a single-sided app. Two distinct experiences, one for job seekers, one for employers, each with its own dashboard, data, and relationship to the other side.
Icon Architecture & Photography
Sharp, angular edges over rounded ones, for a confident new-tech feel. Real human photography throughout, not illustration, because trust between real people needs real faces.
Where the Icon System Stands
The live product ships with rounded-style icons today, the safe default while the platform focused on shipping speed. The angular set here is the planned next iteration, built from the CultureLancer mark's own geometry.
Mapping the Platform in FigJam
Structure first, before a single real screen existed: a mindmap splitting the platform into Job Seekers, Employers, and shared systems for support, mobile and onboarding.
Sitemap
The mindmap became a full sitemap, a flowchart from the home page down through every page either side could reach.
Annotated UX Flows
One board per journey, UX recommendations written directly on the diagram: guided profile setup for seekers, role templates and candidate comparison for employers.
Low-Fidelity Wireframes
Layout and page logic locked and signed off in grey, before colour, for both sides, keeping every high-fidelity screen that followed already validated in structure.
Component System
Navigation, cards, buttons, form fields and type styles, defined once and reused with variants across a dozen distinct page types. New pages assembled, not redesigned.
Two-Sided Entry Point
Job seekers and employers each get their own path from the first screen, the choice presented upfront rather than buried in a settings toggle.
Job Seeker Profile Builder
Personal details, experience, education, portfolio, awards and social links, front-loaded in a structured multi-step flow, because richer data upfront makes the matching sharper later.
Job Seeker Dashboard & Job Detail
A skills assessment, a match-based job feed, and messaging with employers who responded, so applying never means leaving the page they were scanning.
Employer Dashboard
Built for candidate discovery, not job browsing: best-matched candidates, applied candidates per job, and analytics on performance over time.
Post a Job, With AI Assistance
An AI-assisted description tool so an employer with a rough idea ends up with a complete, well-matched listing.
Messaging, Courses & Membership
Three shared systems: direct messaging between matched employers and candidates, on-platform courses and certifications, and a tiered employer membership structure.
Where It Landed
Structure planned in FigJam, validated through low-fidelity wireframes, translated into a design system the client could build from with confidence. CultureLancer is live and operating today.
