Usepass is an identity management product enabling businesses seamlessly create, issue, manage IDs and facilitate streamlined access control. This case study shows my contribution and impact as the lead product designer on the team. Early in 2020, we built a verification product to simplify staff verification and KYC for individuals and businesses using their government-issued IDs. As time progressed, we ran into a myriad of third-party dependencies for each ID API we were integrating making the process costly and unsustainable. Embarking on a journey of rediscovery, we set out to pivot our focus towards a more viable solution and this led to the birth of Usepass(f.k.a Identify) — an identity management product enabling businesses seamlessly create, issue, manage IDs and streamline access control.

I was the lead designer for Usepass from the beginning in October 2020 till May, 2021, working closely with key stakeholders across business, product, design and engineering on product strategy and design for onboarding, ID creation, issuing, management and access control.
