Problem

Influencer Marketing is More Like Gambling!
Lack of Transparency and Certainty: Influencer marketing can be risky and inefficient for many brick-and-mortar stores.
Substantial Investment: Stores often spend significant budgets on various marketing campaigns without guaranteed results.
Difficulty in Tracking Effectiveness: It’s challenging to measure whether advertising efforts actually lead to sales.

Omolaat is an affiliate commission-based platform where marketers can promote products and services of brick-and-mortar stores, ensuring more reliable and trackable marketing efforts.

Omolaat: An Affiliate Commission-Based Platform
Omolaat was established to help restaurants and influencers earn more money and create opportunities for new restaurants to generate leads and collaborations. The project, initiated by Omar Mashouq, capitalizes on the potential of the Saudi Arabian market.
Omar approached me to conduct a UX audit of their product, focusing on how teachers interact with it, and to design their software. This case study highlights the software design aspect of our collaboration.

Web Design

The client provided detailed requirements for each screen and component of their product. This clarity allowed us to understand the target audience and the desired impression of the software in Saudi Arabia.

Mission:

Our mission was to strike the perfect balance and ensure the software embodies a consistent and cohesive brand image across both target markets. We aimed to enhance usability, visual and emotional appeal, and informativeness, and create engaging user-friendly communication.

Visual Identity Recommendations:

After reviewing the requirements and analyzing the target markets, as well as the clients’ vision and values, I developed recommendations to enhance the visual identity. These steps aimed to unify all communication touchpoints and channels, offering solutions to the audience’s needs. Additionally, these recommendations were designed to adapt the existing branding and product to appeal specifically to the influencer and restaurant markets in Saudi Arabia.

Typography Choice:

We chose the Alexandria typeface for its readability and professional look. Created by Hank Gillette, this neo-grotesque typeface is patterned after Susan Kare’s bitmap Athens for the original Macintosh.

Color Scheme:

The software’s color palette follows the 60/30/10% rule, using classic white and gray with green as an accent color for calls-to-action. This combination adds energy and positivity to the overall design.
A solid visual hierarchy allows users to quickly skim and scan pages, adhering to the five-second rule, where users grasp the essentials within the first five seconds. This design ensures smooth transitions between screens, enabling users to explore the service’s functionality and benefits seamlessly, whether they are influencers or restaurant owners. Given the two distinct user groups, we tailored the onboarding process to provide each persona with a unique, personalized journey.
The Omolaat project showcases a meticulous design process tailored to meet the specific needs of restaurant owners in Saudi Arabia. By creating an affiliate commission-based platform, we have provided a reliable and trackable marketing solution that bridges the gap between influencers and brick-and-mortar restaurants. Our focus on usability, visual appeal, and cohesive communication has resulted in software that enhances user experience andopens new avenues for growth and collaboration.
