Jim Virtual Chess Lessons - Website Design and Development

Jim Santorelli is a nationally renowned authority on chess in education with over 30 years of chess instruction experience whose passion for chess continues to help players to improve their skills and ability. Jim has successfully guided his students to 13 National Championships!

During the pandemic Jim's in-person classes ended, he had a plan to start teaching online and target a global audience, luckily Jim and I connected via one of our mutual friends. he wanted a website with a fresh look and feel, but equally important he also needed a website that would return results. Jim needed a booking system with woo-commerce and integration of that booking with Paypal and Stripe

I connected with Jim via Zoom, during the identification phase I gathered all the data from jim, his expertise, his achievements press releases, etc, After identifying the gaps and opportunities with Jim. I outlined several priorities that needed to be addressed. First and foremost we needed to start at the top of the funnel and expand the awareness about Jim's achievements in chess.

I outlined what makes Jim unique, what type of student it’s for, and the benefits of choosing online chess lessons. I really brought that excitement about online school into every page of the site, pointing out benefits and success stories wherever possible, and created a new way of thinking about online chess lessons. in the end, we created one of the most successful online chess teaching websites in the world with 30k organic monthly visitors.

My work together with Jim has resulted in an intuitive and easy-to-use website that allows users to easily book chess lessons online. Moving Jim from teaching in physical class to teaching hundreds of students online via Zoom.

The research-based design of the website not only positions Jim as an online chess education leader visually but also through the newly developed content that focuses on quality vs. quantity. which resulted in 30k monthly organic traffic from Google Search.
