10 Signs Your Blood Sugar is High

·       Intro:

Everybody likes to have sweet dishes and a good dessert loaded with lots of chocolate after a meal or anytime you are craving it but all of these sweet-in-taste products have a high amount of sugar in them. The normal intake of added sugar according to the American Heart Association for males and females is 150 calories and 100 calories per day respectively anything more than that is not good for your health. So, it is safe to say that these sweet-in-taste crystals can be venomous for your health. When we talk about high sugar levels, the first thing that comes to our mind is diabetes which is a deadly disease but long before this disease enters you, your body is designed to give you signs and symptoms that sugar inside your body is getting too high and it should be controlled.

The most common alarming signs that your body is going to show will be discussed in this video:

1.    Fatigue and Hunger:

When blood sugar is higher than normal, you are most likely to feel tired and hungry all the time even after having your meals. The food which we intake is converted into glucose by our body and that glucose gives us the energy to perform our daily tasks. This glucose is taken into cells when your body is making enough insulin. In case you have high sugar, your body does not create enough Insulin, making it difficult for the glucose to enter your body. This can result in making you feel more tired and hungrier. So, if you are feeling tired even after resting and taking a good eight hours of sleep, do not assume that you are lazy, you can be taking an irregular amount of sugar.

2.    Blurry vision:

The normal fluid level in your body is necessary for every part of your body to perform its function normally and without any abnormality. High sugar can even affect your eyes which can cause blurry vision. Your eye lens gets swollen which can cause temporary blurred vision so don't be dramatic and rush to the optometrist to get a pair of glasses instead get your sugar checked or maybe cut your sugar consumption.

3.    Excessive Urination:

When you drink more water, it is normal for you to wake up in the middle of the night to pee but when your body has an extreme level of sugar, this situation can abnormally increase because there is a high chance for you to get a urinary tract infection. The other reason for these symptoms is an abnormality in your Kidneys. An extra level of sugar can also disturb your kidneys.

4.    Slow Healing:

Regular circulation of blood is carried out by the nerves and they can also fall prey to the excessive sugar in your body. If your minor bruises and small cuts take a lot of days to heal, take it as a sign of a high sugar level. Due to damaged nerves, blood can not reach the wounded area, making it difficult to heal.

5.    Stomach Problems:

Your eating habits also change when you have a high level of sugar in your body. It can lead to several problems related to your stomach. Emptying your stomach can also be difficult sometimes which causes different issues like nausea vomiting bloating and abdominal pain.

6.    Thirst:

The high sugar level in your body can make you feel thirsty all the time. The main reason for this abnormal thirst is the extra work of your kidneys. Your kidneys try to act as a savior and work overtime so your body can get rid of extra glucose which can result in more urination and you feel thirsty all the time.

7.    Dry Skin:

When you have a high sugar level in your body for quite a long time your skin becomes itchy and dry. The reason behind it is that your body becomes out of the necessary fluids which leave your body dry and can cause itching. Very serious issues related to the skin can also occur because there will be no moisture left for your skin cells.

8.    Numbness:

Extreme high levels of sugar can cause tingling and numbness in certain areas. The reason behind this issue is also the same which is damage to the nerves. It can affect any part of the body but the most commonly affected areas are the hands and feet. This situation in which your body becomes numb is called neuropathy which is a very common symptom of diabetes.

9.    Dry Mouth:

As we all know that an adequate amount of saliva and moisture is necessary for our mouth to carry out daily functions and eat smoothly, we may not know that saliva can also protect us from different bacteria and allergies but due to extreme sugar levels, our mouth becomes dry. The actual reason for dry mouth is still unknown but many doctors say that it is due to the high glucose amount in your body.

10.  Fruity Breath:

If you are recently sensing a weird fruity odor from your breath even after brushing your teeth, it is also a sign of an abnormal sugar level. The reason is the same as mentioned before, damaging of nerves. When your damaged nerves can not circulate the blood properly in your body, specifically your gums, and at the same time glucose is building up in your body, all this can cause bacteria and germs to attack your gums and produce stinky breath.

Outro:

If you are facing these symptoms for quite a long time now, instead of self-diagnosing, consult a professional doctor, get your sugar checked, and keep a proper record of your sugar levels for a few days. Do not ignore the alarms your body is ringing and maintain a healthy lifestyle before things get too serious.
