Introduction
Northampton Community College is a public community college in Pennsylvania with campuses in Bethlehem Township in Northampton County and Tannersville in Monroe County.
Our goal for this project was to communicate and help current and prospective students how to select the ideal career for them using story telling videos and interactive content.
One of the most powerful tools for this project we considered was to use videos of real students who will tell their stories and experiences. By using these videos in conjunction with interactive content students could acquire better knowledge of the areas they are interested in and therefore be able to make a better decision in their career upon entering college.
Understanding the problem
There were many students who do not have a concrete idea of what they would like to study. Many of these students ended up changing careers or dropping out of college because they made a bad decision.
Career assessment tests can help you choose a variety of careers that might suit you. These assessments focus on a specific area, such as skills, interests, or values.
My Role
As a UI/UX expert, I spearheaded the user experience and visual design of the microsite, crafting wireframes, interactive prototypes, high-fidelity designs, and overseeing front-end development. A critical aspect of this project was conducting thorough user research to identify and address key challenges. I employed various methods like surveys, usability tests, and video interviews to gather deep insights. Additionally, I collaborated closely with the back-end team to seamlessly integrate the Education API, enhancing the microsite's functionality and user engagement.
The Solution
Leveraging Digital Feast's storytelling expertise and robust video capabilities, we created several interactive videos using VERSE, a leading platform with API integration. These videos empowered users to interactively navigate and engage with the content. Our comprehensive audience analysis informed the development of the microsite's videos, content, and graphics, ensuring accessibility across all devices.

The Outcome
Achieving over 68,324 video plays and 12,000+ pageviews in a week, our project significantly outperformed prior metrics. This journey enriched my understanding of user interaction, leading to ongoing efforts to monitor, analyze, and continuously innovate the microsite with fresh, user-centric ideas.
