Reimagining LOEWE’s packaging identity and experiential footprint within the Gulf region
The Work:
While LOEWE is a global benchmark for artisanal craft, its presence in the Gulf remains a European import. It lacks a deep connection to the Middle East's olfactory heritage.
ELIKSIR reclaims this space by bridging LOEWE's botanical DNA with Emirati scent culture. Thus, transforming the brand into a local cultural pillar.
The Process:
I engineered a complete cultural synthesis across name, product identity, and sensory formulation.
The name functions as a strategic phonetic bridge. It merges the Spanish "elixir" and the Arabic "al-iksir " to honor a shared history of alchemy between Spain and the Gulf region.
Building a tension between the garden and the desert, I base-noted LOEWE's green botanical codes with ethically sourced Emirati Oud. This creates a scent designed as a local heirloom rather than an export.
Moving beyond glass, I designed a sand-textured, unglazed ceramic vessel to serve as an object as archive. The porous surface absorbs environmental elements and natural oils of the skin over time, creating a unique patina.
ELIKSIR's vessel design
To activate the launch of the ELIKSIR, I conceptualized an experiential private dawat hosted within a minimalist desert oasis, seamlessly fusing scent, memory, and traditional regional hospitality into a lived cultural moment.
