Pods4U is an Irish company specialising in high quality living pods. Their pods can be designed for a range of different uses (home office, gyms, living space etc.) and offer the perfect space-saving addition to any property.
I began working with Pods4U in 2021 when they were just launching the business.
To date they have:
Received over 800 inquiries from interested customers,
Grown their social media following by 27,000 (with no ads),
and have a 6 month waiting list for their pods

Research:

We conducted research on the business's competitors, and target audience to gain a better understanding of their brand and industry. We spoke to potential customers to understand their needs and concerns they would have about the purchasing a Pod for their home.
The cost, planning permission and the construction process were the primary concerns mentioned by customers, which we were able to address in the design.

Web design:

The goal was to produce a design that was easy to navigate, that was visual and could show the pods beautifully, and would reflect the quality and class that the customer could expect.

Copywriting:

Using insights from the research, we were able to write clear and concise website text that would explain the benefits of the pods and address the concerns that customers have.
By understand and addressing these key concerns at each step we are able to significantly increase the number of people inquiring.

Analytics and CRO:

Our work didn't end there. We continued to work with Pods4U after their launch, providing insights and solutions for them to continue to grow.
Audience insights such as age, location and seasonal trends in inquiries.
Common themes in their inquiries: For example, terms related to cost and price were mentioned 445 times. By understanding this, we were able to make this price information more visible on the website, and they could make engaging social media content around these questions, saving a significant amount of time spent dealing with these inquiries.
Key areas for improvement: We identified a large drop off in users from the homepage to the contact form so we added a chat widget that was always in sight as the user scrolled.

Results

Total Number of Inquiries by Year
2021: 53 inquiries
2022: 368 inquiries (Increase of 594%)‍
2023: 354 inquiries
The 3.8% decrease from 2022 to 2023 was a result of adding more fields to the form as well as answering customers questions about prices so we still see this as positive growth.

Conclusion

The Pods4U project is a little bit unique in the way that we have worked with them right from the beginning. It isn't always this way. However, it does demonstrate the benefit of research and thoughtful design right from the beginning.
Pods4U have a high volume of leads coming in through their website, excellent social media growth because they understand their customer's wants and concerns, and have a waiting list of over 6 months.
