I applied to a job on Contra for a
Bolt.new developer even though I felt under-qualified to call myself an expert. I explained to the client that I currently have an application out to become a
Bolt.new expert, but I couldn't yet fully claim that title. Despite that, he took a chance on me, and this verified project marks the first major project of ours together in an ongoing engagement.
We started with a code analysis to ensure that everything
Bolt.new was making for the client was safe and up to standards. After that, we discussed setting up automatic tests for each push and converting the
Bolt.new app into a iOS app on the app store. This post is specifically about the Playwright automated tests that I set up.
There ended up being 63 tests in total, 21 unique tests across 3 platforms, Google Chrome, Safari, and mobile Safari. The tests go through Sign-ins, Sign-ups, Log-outs, delete accounts, post topics, and anything else that a user should be able to do on the app.
This code review and these automated tests are the base for the project to be fully deployed to market. I am excited to continue working on something as exciting as this.
