GridIronGC: College Football to Madden Conversion SaaS
GridIronGC turns College Football dynasty player data into Madden-ready draft classes. The product supports manual conversion, bulk uploads, saved conversions, draft-class organization, and subscription access.
My contribution I built the Node.js and TypeScript backend, API, and player-conversion pipeline, with Python stages and OpenAI-assisted data normalization. My work also covered account and subscription workflows, conversion storage, exports, and automated email delivery.
The engineering challenge A player conversion is more than copying ratings between games. The system has to accept different input paths, normalize player records, apply the conversion flow, and return an output the user can organize and export. Account access and subscription state also have to stay connected to those workflows.
How the system fits together • Manual conversion gives users a path for individual player records. • Bulk upload supports processing a roster through the conversion pipeline. • Backend APIs connect conversion requests, account access, saved results, and draft-class management. • Python processing and OpenAI-assisted normalization support the data transformation stages. • Subscription, renewal, export, and email workflows support the surrounding SaaS experience.
Backend and deployment The backend runs with Docker on AWS EC2, with Nginx handling the reverse proxy and HTTPS for the API. This connects the user-facing application to the backend conversion and account workflows.
Delivered scope Backend APIs, player-conversion processing, account and subscription flows, saved conversions, draft-class organization, exports, and automated email delivery.
