Halloween Campaign Series for a Functional Drink Brand

A Three-Email Halloween Sequence for a DTC Alcohol-Alternative Brand

Overview

Designed a three-email Halloween campaign for a functional drink brand, built to carry subscribers from interest to purchase across the season.
The series builds in stages. The first email earns trust through customer stories, the second creates anticipation with a free-gift tease, and the third delivers the offer with a spend-to-unlock code. Each email works on its own, and together they read as one campaign.

Context

Halloween is a social night built around parties, costumes, and drinks. It’s also a night many people end up regretting the next morning.
For a brand built around keeping the social buzz without the hangover, that tension is the story. The campaign speaks to people who want to enjoy the night fully and still wake up feeling fine.

The Challenge

Halloween campaigns often:
Rely on themed graphics with no real message underneath
Lead with the discount in every send
Lose brand identity under heavy seasonal styling
This series needed to:
Give the product a clear role in the Halloween night
Build trust before asking for a purchase
Make the free-gift offer feel exciting and worth acting on
Keep the brand recognisable through dark, seasonal palettes

Strategic Approach

The three emails were sequenced to move subscribers through the campaign:
Trust → Show the product’s role through real customer experiences
Anticipation → Tease free products and a mystery gift
Action → Unlock the offer with a code and a spend threshold

Campaign Overview

Email 1 — Keep Halloween A Dream, Not A Nightmare

Purpose: Position the product as the way to enjoy the night without regret
A warm orange hero shows the product being poured into a cocktail beside pumpkins and spices, with the headline and CTA placed above the fold. The email then shifts to a black background, naming the problem directly: non-stop drinking can turn a good Halloween into a rough morning.
It focuses on:
A styled product scene that places the drink inside the occasion
Problem-and-solution copy framed around mood and control
Customer testimonials in glowing, candlelit-style cards, with star ratings and quotes about relaxing and enjoying time with others
A closing CTA: Start Halloween right

Email 2 — Trick Or Treats At Your Doorstep

Purpose: Build anticipation around a free-gift offer
The headline plays on trick-or-treating, and the hero shows a branded delivery box with a witch’s hand reaching in, surrounded by falling leaves and a carved pumpkin. The offer of free products plus a mystery gift is stated up front.
It highlights:
A “Reveal My Treats” CTA that turns clicking into part of the game
An arched hero frame that makes the gift box the focal point
A haunted-frame content block that reframes the offer around not waiting for candy

Email 3 — We Gave Your Favourite Flavours A Halloween Makeover

Purpose: Convert with a clear offer and code
A full-moon hero frames a single product bottle under a reaching shadow hand, with spiders and autumn branches adding atmosphere. Below, the offer is stated plainly with a dashed code block.
It focuses on:
A dramatic single-product hero
A spend threshold that unlocks free sachets and a gift
The recurring dashed code block, consistent with the brand’s wider promotions
A “Pick Your Potion” CTA that keeps the Halloween tone through to checkout

Design System

Brand pink CTAs held constant across all three emails, even against orange, white, and black backgrounds
Seasonal palettes of warm orange, deep black, autumn brown, and moonlit gold, each email with its own mood
Bold sans-serif headlines for clarity against busy, atmospheric imagery
Scalloped and wavy section dividers to transition between hero and body
Seasonal props (pumpkins, leaves, spiders, branches, bats) framing content without crowding it
Rounded cream containers for testimonials and offer copy, consistent with the brand’s campaign system

Conversion Thinking

Social proof first to build trust before any offer appears
Problem-and-solution framing that ties the product to a feeling people recognise
Anticipation before the offer, so the free gift feels like a reward
Playful, on-theme CTAs (Reveal My Treats, Pick Your Potion) that keep the click part of the experience
A spend threshold paired with free gifts to raise order value

Outcome

The series shows how a seasonal campaign can be built as a sequence, with each email doing one job and setting up the next. Trust, anticipation, and action each get their own email, and the shared visual system keeps all three recognisable as one brand through a season of heavy theming.
