Transforming NFT Trading into a Human-Centred Experience
💡Overview
Enefti is a web-based B2C NFT marketplace for digital arts and collectibles. This project sought to make crypto trading more accessible and engaging through a user-first design approach, bridging the gap between complex NFT transactions and everyday collectors.
With a product vision centred on trust, simplicity, and delight, I led the end-to-end design process, turning strategic goals into intuitive, high-performing interfaces.
🧩 The Challenge
Despite the NFT boom, many platforms alienate non-technical users with jargon-heavy flows and cluttered dashboards. Their web experience struggled with:
Poor user onboarding for NFT newcomers
Low engagement and conversion from collectors
Fragmented navigation across dashboard, marketplace, and profile
Unclear wallet connectivity and bidding flow
The goal was to design the NFT trading experience to feel like a sleek e-commerce platform, while still empowering seasoned traders with depth.
🎯 Objectives
Simplify the NFT discovery and bidding flow
Humanize crypto interactions through clean UX/UI
Optimize the dashboard for active users with a clear hierarchy
Enhance mobile responsiveness and speed
Boost trust via user profiles, activity logs, and collection pages
🔍 Process
1. Research & Discovery
I ran a hybrid research sprint:
Conducted 3 user interviews with digital art collectors
Benchmarked 7 leading NFT platforms (OpenSea, Rarible, Foundation, etc.)
Analyzed key pain points in wallet connections and bidding friction
2. Information Architecture & Wireframes
Mapped out user journeys for creators, collectors, and traders
Organized navigation into intuitive buckets: Dashboard, Marketplace, Wallet, History
Designed modular, scalable card systems for collections and items
3. Visual & Interaction Design
Created a dark-themed, crypto-native aesthetic using a 4pt grid
Incorporated micro-interactions for bids, alerts, and wallet actions

Curated display of NFTs within a specific collection or by a creator. Organized by theme with consistent visual style and metadata filtering.

A personalized profile screen showing owned NFTs, bid history, and wallet interactions. Also supports social presence with follower counts and display settings.
Fosters user identity and community building, while increasing platform stickiness and repeat logins through a sense of ownership and transparency.

📈 Results
While post-launch analytics were owned by Enefti’s internal team, early feedback and product metrics revealed:

📚 Learnings
Crypto products need emotional design. Trust isn’t built through tech alone, it’s designed through transparency and tone.
Collectors want inspiration, not just data. Integrating discovery, artist storytelling, and real-time bids made the platform feel alive.
Design handoff is a product in itself. Modular systems reduced development back-and-forth and empowered Enefti’s team to iterate confidently.
💬 Final Thoughts
This project reaffirmed my belief that even the most complex, blockchain-based tools can be made human-friendly, with research-backed decisions, scalable systems, and a dash of visual delight.
