How To Choose? Which Product Is The One For Me?

If you don’t know how Amazon works, likely you’ve been living under a rock.

But here’s the process from a copywriting perspective:

1) Buyer types a few words into SEARCH.

2) Amazon spews more options than your salary could handle.

3) You select the tastiest looking offers and cut back from there to THE ONE.

So here are 3 past Amazon copy projects that used three different strategies to hook their respective niche buyers ...

High End Kitchenware

A+ gives you lander-style presentation options, and you can really go to town with visual embellishment.

Pre-2020, Amazon ads read like articles.

But who wants to read text-heavy, keyword-stuffed obstacle courses?

So it’s much simpler now to present alluring ads.

For my kitchenware clients, we let the imagery do the talking and augment the main features and benefits with catchy headlines.

Christmas Consumables

Some Amazon ads lie dormant most of the time — then spring up like crazed dogs hellbent on chasing a ball.

Christmas products fit this bill to the letter.

What’s interesting about festive stickers and labels is that they’re just strips of coloured paper you stick on things!

But what gets them moving off thje shelf is bringing the Christmas story alive as you say things like “3 inches by 2 inches” and “100gsm”.

Story sells.

Especially at Christmas!

Sports Accessories

Why would you buy a headlight you can stick on your beanie to go running?

You could say so you can see where you’re going in the dark.

Or so motorists can see you.

But the story here is the sense of adventure you get when you’re out running with a light stuck to your head.

All the lumens stats, the battery life, and what the grip cable is made of — these are just supplemental details driving the story forward.

Your run. Your heartbeat. Your best time.
