I have created many complex email automation sequences for a few businesses using ActiveCampaign as the auto responder service.
I have been with ActiveCampaign for several years and their site is not stagnant. They are constantly improving the interface, especially for the creation of automations which are the lifeblood of any decent auto responder service.
Unfortunately, it's virtually impossible to showcase what you are able to do with an ActiveCampaign automation.
For example, if you download an image of a complex automation you have set up, the elements of the image (because there are so many of them) have been shrunk so much they look like ants doing a conga line.
My most complex automations are all for my own businesses because I am the most demanding person I know when it comes to setting up automations. I always want to squeeze as much out of them as I can.
In addition to the manual labor which always goes into setting up an automation on AC using their automation builder, I also make heavy use of their API (application programming interface).
The API allows one to remotely change elements of a subscriber's profile so that subsequent messages sent to that subscriber incorporate the new information.
Example: The subscriber clicks on a link to let me know they are interested in learning more about XYZ. I then use the API, triggered by the subscriber's click, to add that preference information to their AC profile. And now I can send messages about XYZ to that subscriber without worrying that I am annoying them.
If you are not the technical type then talk about an API can seem very dry. So I won't belabor the point.
Except to say this. Because I am also a software developer, when it comes to dealing with email subscribers there's not a lot I can't do if I have access to the ActiveCampaign API.
This means if you ever have a genius idea about something you would like to do with your subscribers that does not seem possible given your current auto responder arrangement, query me. I might be able to see a way forward.
