ASK Method-Style Quiz As Basis For A Personalized Lead Magnet
The responses from this quiz are used to automatically generate a PDF lead magnet containing an analysis of the quiz results. The PDF is generated in real time.
The responses from this quiz are fed to an automatically-generated PDF lead magnet which provides an analysis of the quiz results. The PDF is generated in real time once the quiz is completed.
This is a demonstration funnel.
It illustrates a strategy I am able to implement which I call precision marketing. I have used it elsewhere, but here it is presented in a way which is easy to understand.
Back in 2016-2017 I took the ASK Method courses offered by Ryan Levesque. Ryan's approach, which was new at the time, was to use quizzes to segment your target audience based on the way they respond to questions asked while taking a quiz.
Based on the segmentation, now you can market to each of these groups in a way that most clearly demonstrates what your product or service can do for them.
Additionally, now that you have collected information from your prospect about their situation you can "read their minds" and deliver follow up messaging which demonstrates your suitability to serve them.
Since that time I have taken the ASK Method approach and extended it's capabilities so that the end result is something I call precision marketing. But you could also call it extreme personalization.
With the information collected from an ASK Method-style quiz I can now construct lead magnets, sales letters, and even entire products, on the fly (in real time) so that the content is customized to the needs of the individual quiz taker.
This is demonstrated with the "super genius" quiz linked to in this project.
But rather than explain to you just how the quiz demonstrates this advanced ability to implement personalization I'll reproduce the email message below I use to introduce this quiz to marketers who might be able to make use of the technique.
Email Message Introducing The Super Genius (Advanced Personalization) Quiz
This is the first message seen after someone subscribes to my email series on the topic of personalization as an advanced marketing strategy.
SUBJECT LINE:
[It's Personal #1] OK. Let's do this personalized offers thing...
PREHEADER:
And bid farewell to the one-size-fits-all approach.
BODY:
Hey, it's Stephen Carter.
I don't know whether it's true that marketers have the same attention span as the people we market to (said to be equal to that of a goldfish) but I'm taking no chances...
So before I start in on this short series about precision offers I'm going to immediately provide you with a cheeky example of one.
On seeing it I imagine you'll either say: "Neat. This is something I want to hear more about..." and you'll open the next few messages I'm planning to send your way...
Or you'll yawn and unsubscribe.
Either way, you'll have greater clarity on this topic.
But before I send you off to see this whiz-bang thing of mine let me tell you a quick story to put this personalization stuff in perspective.
So, imagine you wake up one morning and to your dismay discover that your throat hurts real bad.
Off to the doctor you go.
"Can you help me?" you implore.
"Well, I'll tell you what," the man in the white coat responds without bothering to shine a light down your throat.
"I've had a lot of people come in with sore throats over the years and I've cataloged all my best efforts at soothing them..."
Then he hands you a pamphlet titled: "How To Temporarily Sooth Your Sore Throat" and tells you to contact him again after reading it - if you would like a bona fide cure.
That pamphlet is the equivalent of your standard lead magnet.
It is designed to serve everyone coming in the door.
If you are cringing right now and thinking to yourself "Geez. That's me. I create one-size-fits-all lead magnets. Doesn't everyone?"
They do.
But there's a better way of handling this.
It's called personalization.
It is the equivalent of having the doctor look down your throat, ask you a few questions to rule out some possible causes, and then he explains in detail how he would go about ordering the fewest possible lab tests to uncover the cause of your suffering.
Personalization applied to lead magnets (or even to an entire product) can be a very powerful approach to solving your prospect's problem.
Or at least convince them that you are the person they should be coming to for help with their "sore throat".
So here's what I have for you to play with today.
It is a personalized lead magnet constructed on the fly in response to you taking a quiz.
I created this "lead magnet" as a tongue-in-cheek demo.
But it does contain all the elements of a personalized offer.
Here's what's unusual about this lead magnet.
Depending on the way you respond to the quiz the lead magnet will be generated in one of over 3400 different ways.
Think of the quiz as the doctor asking you questions.
Then he reaches into his file cabinet of 3400 sore throat remedies and pulls out the one he thinks you are likely to find success with.
That's a personalized lead magnet.
It's tailored to the responses of your prospect.
It's not the one-size-fits-all answer that a lesser marketer is going to put into a PDF and hand out as though it really might be the thing that is going to convince the prospect that you're the one they want to work with.
Anyway, enough of the theory.
You can see for yourself how this works in practice...
Because you are on my list, the following link will run the lead magnet funnel WITHOUT actually putting you onto the "super genius newsletter" (although it will ask for your contact details, just as it normally would if I was using the funnel to capture leads).
The quiz is designed to uncover your Super Genius Type so that you can see whether or not you might be a good candidate for coaching at the Coyote Super Genius Training Academy:
After completing the quiz (it's very short) you'll land on the results page where you can download your personalized quiz results in the form of a PDF.
Look for the download link at the top of the results page.
My recommendation is that you make a note of your quiz responses as you are going through the quiz.
Then you can compare what's in the PDF with what you might expect to be in it assuming it was created based on your quiz results.
In this case we're dealing with a short (roughly 20 page) automatically-generated lead magnet.
But it could just as easily have been a 100 page digital product, or a series of such documents delivered every other week in an email sequence, or some other imaginative construct based on using the personalized data to hone in on the best approach to solving your prospect's problem.
At any rate, that's what I have for you today.
In later messages I'll show you how you can use this quiz-based approach to do things like automated prospecting of leads on social media channels, where you can qualify and filter prospects and then deliver a personalized result to someone who fits your ideal client profile...
It's powerful stuff.
I do recommend you take the Super Genius Type quiz and check out the "personalized field guide" it will automatically cobble together for you.
After that I reckon you'll know whether it's going to be worth your time to open my next message :)
