A Modular Shopify Theme System for Wellness Brands

Vida Organica started because I couldn't find a Shopify theme that actually understood what wellness brands need. When I was running Soléa (my e-commerce store), I kept hitting the same walls: templates that looked pretty but didn't support the kind of ingredient education and founder storytelling that builds trust in this space.

So I built what I wish I'd had.

This is a productized theme system designed web-first, then scaled responsively for mobile—because that's how founders actually work. We build on desktop, but our customers are scrolling on their phones.

1. Reusable Shopify section logic that's actually flexible, not just "customizable" in name only

2. Layouts that prioritize content—ingredient transparency, brand story, the stuff that converts skeptical buyers

3. Design decisions backed by competitive UX audits and the pain points I experienced firsthand

4. A Figma file ready for handoff: auto layout, tokenized, schema-aware

Timeline: 4.5 weeks (solo) 

This system was created with the intention of scaling at a component level for reuse and future expansion. The focus was on building cohesiveness in style, readability, and human comprehension.

Nothing here was borrowed. Every component in this system was constructed from scratch, piece by piece. That's the only way to get the level of control that makes a theme actually flexible instead of "flexible with asterisks."

But some pieces go further than foundational. The photo carousel, for example, is something I haven't seen done elsewhere. This widget allows to add characteristics of supplements in 5 text fields with the option of adding a small icon. 

This is what separates a design system from a collection of borrowed parts.

The text is written to feel like a real wellness brand so buyers can immediately see whether this system fits their voice. But it also works as a jumping-off point. If a founder doesn't have their messaging dialed in yet, they're not starting from a blank page. They're starting from something that already sounds like their industry, their customer, their product story.
