PM lead for complex project driving cross-functional teams

Michelle Ryckman

Problem:
I worked for a publicly-held Fortune 100 company that was undergoing a significant confidential corporate change. As the communications and change management lead, my role involved working with executives and cross functional teams that touched every department (HR, Operations, Investor Relations, Finance, IT, Marketing, etc.), as well as external partners.
Action:
I led the planning, development and messaging that summarized the project, key changes, budget, timing and impact to various audience groups. We had several layers of confidentiality for each team based on need to know. I worked with executives to create individualized plans including messaging and deliverables for their respective departments to ensure the plans were in place, operating as intended, met their objectives, and to make adjustments as needed.
Result:
Multi-phased successful rollout of the project. Internally by engaging employees and key leaders across the company. Externally with clients, partners, media, shareholders and investors.
One of my strongest skills is the ability to work with others. I enjoy working with and learning from different functional areas within a company, and see my role as a communications advisor, partner and extension of each internal team.
