Client Name: AMA
Industry: Healthcare
Objective: The AMA team came to us with a powerful goal which was to build a digital platform that keeps caregivers and patients closely connected, especially those living with chronic conditions or limited mobility.
We designed an experience that helps patients request care, follow simple daily plans, chat with caregivers, and stay on top of their health. With wearable integration and real-time updates, caregivers can monitor wellness and respond faster when it matters most.
On the backend, we crafted tools that make it easy for care teams to coordinate, schedule, and stay in sync, creating a smoother, more supportive care experience for everyone involved.

The Challenges
Care Felt Disconnected and Hard to Manage
Families and patients were juggling spreadsheets, calls, and messaging apps. This made care messy, unclear, and stressful.
No Clear View of Patient Progress
Important health updates were scattered or manually recorded, and rarely reached doctors or families in a useful way. This led to missed insights and slower decisions.
Tools Were Hard to Use
Most existing caregiving apps weren’t designed for real caregivers or patients. Cluttered interfaces made adoption difficult and trust low.
Solutions
Streamlined Care Requests
Patients can now request help directly through the app with a simple guided flow — no missed calls or vague messages. Caregivers see exactly what’s needed and when.
Personalized Daily Care Plans
Each patient gets a clear, dynamic plan covering medications, routines, tasks, and exercises. Caregivers update progress in real-time, keeping families and teams aligned.
Real-Time Communication (with Voice Notes)
Built-in chat + voice notes make communication easy and natural, especially for elderly users who prefer speaking over typing.
Health Monitoring
Wearable devices sync to the app, showing key vitals and daily health trends in one dashboard — helping caregivers catch issues early.
One-Tap Emergency SOS
In emergencies, patients can trigger an instant alert. Caregivers receive the location and key health info immediately, enabling fast response.

The process

We started fast. Wireframes helped us get on the same page about the flow and key features. No endless debates. No overthinking. Just a quick way to check if we’re moving in the right direction.
Once that felt good, I focused on crafting the best UI possible. Clean design, clear charts, friendly details. And as always, I kept the client in the loop with frequent updates: Loom videos, and quick text recaps.
Along the way, I built a simple design system with reusable elements to keep everything consistent and ready for development.

Project Outcome: After three months of iterative design and testing, AMA exceeded expectations across user adoption, speed, and satisfaction. During usability testing, over 70% of users were able to complete tasks like care requests and profile setup without guidance — a key metric for a platform intended for non-technical users. Compared to traditional caregiver coordination methods, request completion time dropped by nearly 40%, saving valuable time for both families and providers.
