Our Green City / Touch&Feel Textile Book

GM Media is an international textile company offering a wide range of textiles for various business needs. Their products cover everything from printed materials to large-scale textiles for buildings or advertisements.
To showcase their eco textile selection, GM Media wanted an illustrated, storytelling catalogue with interactive elements.
My role was to develop the entire concept and structure of the book, ensuring a cohesive and engaging design.

The illustration

The book’s storyline needed to be relatable and highlight the company’s advertising textiles. We decided to focus on cities and how textiles integrate into urban life. Using a European city as a reference, the reader is taken through familiar canals, squares, and cozy cafés—places they know well and can easily relate to in their everyday life.

The textile

To make the book interactive rather than purely storytelling, we decided to borrow the touch-and-feel approach from children’s books. Each illustration features a textile sample that can be touched.
Due to restrictions on cutting textiles, the samples couldn’t be too small, so they were incorporated into the design as sidewalks and squares.
