Walnut Cracker

As a team of 3 students, we were tasked to create a purely mechanical mechanism that is to perfectly crack a walnut open with ease of use in mind. 12 weeks was spent on researching, drafting concepts, 3D CAD modelling and physically manufacturing the product in a workshop that involved the use of power and hand tools as well as MIG welding.

With a team of 3 students, I designed & manufactured a walnut cracker with a simple design, giving increased mechanical advantage to easily crack walnuts.
