The Result:

As a result, from our quick action and collaboration Majestic Meat Co. generated over $120,000 in retail sales in the first 2 months, was covered by multiple local news channels, and was able to stay in business, bring back the entire work force and added a new service for driving sales!

“Admittedly I was a little skeptical of Gage's ideas, but he certainly proved he knew what he was doing. Without him, we would have never been able to sustain operating our family-owned business, and in fact, we more well known throughout the community and are able to generate even more revenue through our retail sales!” - Raymond Zaelit | Owner

About The Company:

After my hopes and dreams of becoming a professional athlete were crushed, I started working for Majestic Meat Co.

Established in 1959, Majestic Meat Co. is a 3rd generation family owned Utah wholesale meat provider.

Shelton's Meat Co. in 1950. Would Soon Become Majestic Meat Co. In 1959

I started out by just packaging meat but quickly worked through the ranks. As I did, I realized that Majestic Meat Co. didn't even have a website! So, with absolutely no experience in website development I offered to create them one!

The Process:

So, I contracted out a web-dev friend of mine, and worked along side him to create the website. I gathered all content and details for the website and he plugged it in.

My duties as Project Manager included:

  • Website Copy
  • Tabs & Links
  • Photos
  • Product, Farms, Company, Industry & Employee Research
  • Ensuring Accuracy
  • Conversing With Management

Not to toot my own horn, but our website looked so good, that two of our biggest competitors copied its exact layout! Things were going great, we were gaining an additional 4-6 clients a month and we became the number one listing on Google Search through SEO strategies!

But then in March 2019, the COVID-19 Pandemic came down on the food service industry with an iron fist!

COVID-19:

The pandemic absolutely crushed the food service industry. The owner had to lay off his own son along with 85% of our workforce. I stayed due to my ability to perform almost every single necessary job within the company.

As the weeks went by and our sales plunged, I told upper management that we should shift our focus to retail sales. As a family desperate to keep the company afloat, they agreed.

The Process:

I reached back out to my web-dev buddy and got back to work! In just two weeks we built out a fully functional online retail store. I created the copy, pricing, found the images and started marketing it to the public!

I reached out to a few local news stations and two of them even gave us segments on the night time program!
