Wordela: Language App UX Audit and Rebrand

Wordela had a growing user base and a nagging sense that the app was underperforming. Engagement was inconsistent and the team needed to know exactly where the experience was breaking down.
The audit. I ran a full UX audit of the iOS app, looking for usability issues, navigation friction, and bugs standing between users and a smooth learning session. The work went screen by screen, mapping the whole journey from onboarding through daily practice, to understand not only what was not working but why. Heuristic evaluation was paired with a close read of navigation flow, information hierarchy, and interaction patterns. The output was a detailed report: each friction point flagged and matched with a practical recommendation, ordered so the team could act on it rather than admire it.
The rebrand. With that in hand the project moved into a full rebrand of the visual identity. Wordela's audience are learners who need to feel progress and stay motivated, so the new look is energetic, modern, and approachable. It supports the sense of daily achievement the app is built around instead of competing with it. Typography, colour, iconography, and UI components were reworked into one coherent identity that holds from splash screen to lesson completion.
Result. An app that reads current and engaging, backed by a clear roadmap for smoother navigation and stronger retention.
Timeline: 2 weeks. Year: 2025. I ran the audit and led the rebrand.
