Project Overview

For lydiasherrer.com, we developed a stunning website and custom branding that truly captures Lydia's unique essence as an author. This project involved creating custom graphics, hand-drawn artistic elements, a full set of distinctive logo designs, and the design & development of a beautiful and user-friendly website that appeals to her reader base. Everything in this project was touched by a sense of wonder and magic, and we ensured our designs would bring out the dreamy world she is best known for.

Website Design & Development

For Lydia's new author site, we handled everything needed to create a long lasting, professional, and uniquely Lydia online presence. We spent hours in the design phase gaining feedback from every step of the process to create something beautiful and exactly as she dreamed it would be. When we had everything perfectly nailed-down to the smallest detail, we developed the site to ensure it remains functional, responsive, accessible, and works across all devices and screen types.

It was wonderful collaborating with Lydia to create a vision perfectly suited to her needs. From concept to completion, we ensured every aspect of her site was meticulously crafted, resulting in a professional, polished, and uniquely Lydia online presence.

Custom Branding

Since Lydia already had a brand-vision in mind through her time as an author, it was an exciting and collaborative experience working with her to create a new image that matched her vision and style. We designed as many iterations as needed for Lydia to create the perfect and distinctive logo design, custom author banner, custom hand-drawn elements and borders for the site, and more. We tied everything together with a cohesive color palette that matched her very first title, and a typography set that was equally whimsical and professional in design. The end result ensures that every user is brought into the world of her magical books, while maintaining a professional and polished feel to her overall brand image.

Home Page Design

We crafted Lydia's home page to be the perfect mix of magical and functional. This page includes an immediate call-to-action to read her works, key aspects of the sales funnel, intriguing insights and links to the important cross-site content, custom graphics and borders, and more! We wanted to ensure her site remained professional, yet welcoming and true to the essence of her world.

Custom Logo Designs

For Lydia's new distinctive logo, we played around with many different designs (each hand-crafted, hand-drawn, by us!) Here are some of the design iterations we went through before landing on the final one seen in the header of every page on her site.

Author Banner Designs

As a part of the custom branding Lydia requested, we created many iterations of an author banner to be used across social media or her emails as needed. This was one of those projects where we scheduled off as much time as she needed to ensure we nailed down exactly what she was looking for in the end result.

Custom Individual Book Page Uploading System

This system was custom-coded to ensure Lydia can upload a new book at any time through a "blog post" like system that allows her to input the basic information for the title, description, cover, links, etc., and the information will automatically appear in this customized layout on her site. (Including the icons for the shops, the beautiful background, the correct sizing and colors for all text, and more! Everything is automatic, only the text content is needed from Lydia at the time of posting.)

Books Page Design

Crafted through hours of love and hard work, we created a page on Lydia's site to ensure all of her work is displayed in one place, and customers can click each individual book to learn more and purchase her work across a variety of platforms (as seen in the individual page system above.) This "Books" page includes custom descriptions for each individual book and remains responsive across all screen sizes and device types. It even includes animated progress bars for upcoming new releases!

Within this page we also link to custom pages (not-shown) including her Reading Order list, her Frequently Asked Questions (and answers!), and her "Coming Soon" page showcasing the exciting new things coming from this best-selling author.

Sales-"Fun"nel!

Sometimes the best thing you can do for your brand is to incorporate your marketing in a way that feels authentic & fun for your customer. A perfect example of this was our addition of Lydia's cats to the "About" page on her site, which brings a personal feel while also adding to the sales funnel! As you can see, along with their adorable descriptions, each cat also has a favorite product you can purchase directly from their bio. ;)

Closing

It was an absolute dream collaboration to work with Lydia Sherrer, and we are honored to be a part of her continued success! This project expanded about 250+ hours of our time, and every second was worth creating the site and branding of her dreams.
