Invideo - Video Editing For the Rest of Us

Today, everyone is shooting videos. Yet, for the average Joe, it’s painful to create professional-looking films. That’s where InVideo comes in. It’s a web-based video editing tool with a drag-and-drop interface and a template library that lets you compose social and promo videos in minutes.
InVideo asked us to review and update their existing UX flow and develop a new visual language for their users in 150+ countries and media clients CNN, Reuters, and AT&T.
We researched existing video tools and competing apps and designed the whole flow, including content creation, storyboarding, and editing sections.

The Goals 🎯

Decode the competition's secret sauce – Figure out how other platforms were winning at conversions and keeping users hooked, so we could level up our own game.
Listen to what users actually want – Discover which new features would make content creators and companies genuinely excited (not just what we thought they needed).
Roll out changes without breaking brains – Introduce improvements in a way that felt natural and intuitive, not like learning rocket science, while keeping the business thriving.
Boost conversions and retention – Use research-backed insights and a little human psychology magic to get more people using the product and sticking around.
Make video editing feel like a breeze – Transform the experience from "ugh, another complicated tool" to "wow, I can actually do this!" by prioritizing the features people use most and fixing the pain points that make editing feel like a chore.
