Jackie Rey’s Kona is a boutique, high-end restaurant in Hawai‘i known for chef-driven cuisine, warm hospitality, and a thoughtfully curated dining experience. Their previous website didn’t reflect any of this. It was outdated, visually inconsistent, hard to navigate, and underperforming across conversions, SEO, and mobile. They needed a modern, premium website that matched their restaurant’s personality—and helped guests easily explore menus, book a table, or purchase gift cards.

Their original website created friction at almost every step. The visuals didn’t reflect the restaurant's look, feel, or story, and the UX made it difficult for guests to find essential information, such as menus, hours, and reservations. The site also wasn’t SEO-friendly, which made it difficult for their marketing agency to run ongoing optimization and testing.

They needed a clean structure, a premium visual direction, and a platform their team could confidently maintain long-term.

I worked as a Website Designer & Wix Studio Implementer, handling:

I also coordinated with their SEO marketing agency to ensure the website was built to support ongoing A/B testing, keyword targeting, and content expansion.

I began by reducing the site to its essentials: clear navigation, minimal friction, and a layout driven by the restaurant’s own story and atmosphere. I reviewed all photography, interior elements, color tones, and brand cues to create a design that felt both premium and welcoming.

After launch, Jackie Rey’s saw a 112% increase in traffic and an 82% increase in conversions, driven by clearer structure, faster navigation, and a premium visual identity that finally matched their in-person dining experience.
