NORDKLAR — CLEANING WEBSITE & INTERACTIVE ROOM EXPLORER

PROJECT GOAL Create a clear, approachable cleaning-service website that helps households and businesses understand the offer and turn their requirements into an organised enquiry. Independent portfolio project, not a commissioned customer reference.

MY ROLE Information architecture, UI/UX, responsive design, custom WordPress theme, bilingual content, JavaScript interactions, reusable plugin development and functional checks.

VISUAL DESIGN A white header, blue contact strip, yellow action buttons and a large photographic hero create a confident service identity. Locally hosted Rubik typography, generous spacing and consistent image cards support readability. Typed accent words, bounded hero parallax and scroll reveals add movement while reduced-motion styles keep a static alternative. The photographs retain natural proportions.

CONTENT AND NAVIGATION Eight page types per language: homepage, services, home cleaning, office cleaning, move cleaning, coverage, about and quote enquiry. German and English links connect equivalent content. Detail pages explain included tasks, optional extras, preparation and specialist work outside the standard offer. A postcode checker distinguishes the configured service area from an individual coverage check.

INTERACTIVE ROOM EXPLORER An original SVG apartment plan contains five selectable rooms: living area, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and hallway. Selecting a room opens a focused dialog with included tasks, optional extras and a link into the cleaning enquiry. Previous/next controls, arrow keys, Escape and focus return support navigation. Numbered mobile markers correspond to a named room list. The graphic and content are original, rather than a copied third-party checklist.

GUIDED ENQUIRY Four steps cover service, area/rooms/frequency/extras, postcode/preferred date and review. Questions adapt to the selected service, back navigation preserves entries and required fields have validation. The implementation includes submission/error states and duplicate protection. Anonymous planning details can be saved and a text summary downloaded; contact fields stay in browser memory. No connected email service, payment or confirmed appointment is claimed.

REVIEWS AND INTERACTIONS A four-column illustrative review showcase demonstrates the design of a social-proof section, without claiming genuine customers, review-platform accreditation or an aggregate rating. On small screens it becomes a horizontal scroll-snap presentation with controls. Service cards, FAQ accordions and focused calls to action support the visitor journey.

DELIVERY AND REUSE Custom bilingual WordPress theme and reusable Room Explorer and Cleaning Enquiry plugins, with editable copy, tasks, extras, postcode lists and colours. Presentation checks covered the current English homepage, room dialog and request fields, alongside a 390-pixel mobile view. Earlier broader test records concern an earlier version; no unperformed cross-browser or physical-device audit is claimed.
