Food Delivery App For A Dedicated Outlet.

While deciding a project for my portfolio I wanted to address a real time problem. I found that the food outlet I frequently go has no digital presence. For a business a digital presence is a need nowadays. So I decided to address this real world need for a business as my topic.

This case study describes my process of creating a food delivery app for a restaurant from concept to the final design.

Stop&Eat is competing with other near by food outlets and want to have a digital presence to reach more customers and want to give a delightful smooth experience to its existing customers.

My goal was to design a mobile app that lets users order their meals quickly and easily from Stop&Eat Food Outlet. By this the business will get a digital entrance and enhanced customer reach.

User Experience Designer responsible for the app’s design from concept to delivery.

Understanding The User : Understanding the user helps to identity the pain points and user expectations. This helped me to drive the most desirable ideas for the app.

TIME : Busy professional do not have the time to prepare meals at home especially on weekdays when they are working. 

Order With Choice : User wants to order on their own convenience and choice. Sometimes they want to food get delivered and at times they want it to be a takeaway order so they can have a walk and take their order.

No Wait Time : Users do not want to wait at the outlet they want to order it from home and  by the time they reach the outlet food is ready for takeaway.

Order With Ease : Users can order when they require food, and the restaurant will prepare it, no further required to go physically and check if their desired food item is available or not and also no wait to get it prepared. Just order from and sit back and relax.

Takeaway And Delivery : Now users can decide if they want the food to be delivered at home or if they want to take a walk to the outlet and take their food directly.

Order With No Hassle : Users can order from home and if they choose to visit the store fir takeaway by the time they reach the store order will be ready, So no waiting.

Considering this is my first project I want to read recent visual and functional trends as it will help me to create a product which is compatible with the recent market trends.

I took inspiration from available market apps to ensure a uniformed and latest touch to the design. Figma community was a great resource.

Based on the information gotten from the research, I created a persona representing an ideal user of the application.

The menu provides a clear food image that helps buyers visualize the food That they are about to buy.

Simple order history tracking along with order again button to make sure ordering favourite items again and again is easy.
