I was approached by Monymony to create character animations in Rive.
The project involved:
Converting the provided character design into vector format
Animating three actions: jump, dance, and spin
Applying four client-provided outfits to each animation
The client supplied the character design and outfits.
The character was so adorable that I was immediately excited to bring it to life through animation!
Process
I began by creating draft key poses in Adobe Illustrator for each action, ensuring clarity before moving into animation.
The animations were initially developed without outfits. Once approved, I refined the motions and incorporated all four outfits across each action.
The outfit integration was the most challenging part—it required careful adjustments and took longer than anticipated. But seeing the final results made the effort truly worthwhile!
