Branding & UI Design for a Mental Wellness App

Client Name: Find Chill

At some point in our lives, it can feel like the world is going a million miles a minute, and we're left in the dust. Whether work is dragging us down and causing fatigue or something else in our personal lives is causing stress, we're not alone. The brand's main aim was to be a one-stop mobile application that strives to attain mental peace, manage mindfulness, and lower stress and anxiety.

The logo consists of waves that highlight the importance and perpetual nature of ‘waves’ be it the waves in the ocean,  the heart rate, or even the brain, as they play a key part in our quest for fulfillment and are crucial to all aspects of emotional functioning: thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. We have also intended to amalgamate the outer world and the tech world, with cursive and relaxing typography that creates a rhythmic pattern that composes the soul. 

As a brand extension, a series of customizable characters and expressions were designed to help users visually represent their emotions and mental states. These avatars allow users to personalize their experience by selecting features, expressions, and accessories that align with how they feel on a given day. By doing so, the app fosters self-awareness and emotional expression, creating a safe and engaging space for users to connect with their inner selves. The avatars act as a visual diary, enabling users to track emotional patterns over time while encouraging mindfulness and reflection. This thoughtful integration aligns seamlessly with the app’s mission to promote mental wellness through creativity, personalization, and self-discovery.

Avatars were strategically utilized throughout the app to represent the user’s mood, adding a personalized touch to the experience. Additionally, an extensive iconography system was developed, ensuring clear, consistent visual cues across various sections of the app, enhancing both usability and engagement. This cohesive design approach helped to create a user-friendly interface while maintaining the app’s calming and joyful aesthetic.
