TravelEase is a travel booking platform designed to help users seamlessly find, compare, and book flights, hotels, and rental cars in one intuitive place.
Most travel sites feel cluttered, transactional, or outdated. TravelEase focuses on clarity, personalization, and speed, especially for frequent flyers and digital nomads.
The Challenge
Consolidate flights, hotels, and cars into one smooth UX flow:
• Reduce booking fatigue with minimalist, guided interfaces
• Design for both B2C travelers and corporate booking users
• Create a cohesive dark mode that feels luxurious and tech-savvy
• Offer real-time insights without overwhelming casual users
My Role
As the Lead Product Designer, I was responsible for:
Designing the visual identity and brand language
Building a flexible design system from scratch
Mapping key booking flows (flights, hotels, cars)
Creating onboarding, payment, and dashboard interfaces
Collaborating with PMs and front-end engineers for dev-ready handoff
Tools Used: Figma, After Effects, Notion
Design Type: B2C-focused travel SaaS Web App
The Process
1.Research & Competitive Analysis
Benchmarked UX flows from platforms like Expedia, Hopper, and Skyscanner to understand strengths, weaknesses, and user drop-off points.
2.Persona-Driven Design
Designed with two key personas in mind:
Busy Explorer — wants deals + quick checkout
Corporate Assistant — books for multiple people and needs itinerary visibility
3. Mapping the Journey
Created modular booking flows where users can complete tasks in under 3 steps per service type. Used progressive disclosure to avoid overwhelming users.
Key Features Designed
• Unified Booking Interface – Search, compare, and book in one place
Dark Mode by Default – Designed for frequent travelers and night owls
Quick Actions – Modify bookings, check-in, or cancel in 1 tap
Smart Recommendations – Based on past trips and budget preferences
Outcomes & Highlights
• Reduced average booking time by 37% in prototype tests
• 89% of test users preferred TravelEase UX over traditional platforms
• Improved search clarity and navigation speed through smart hierarchy
• Built a scalable design system now reused in the mobile app MVP
What I Learned
Designing for travelers requires empathy, flexibility, and trust-building. Users don’t want just “another Expedia”—they want something that feels made for their lifestyle.
This project reinforced the value of simplifying high-stress processes, such as payments, last-minute changes, and confirmations.
Final Thoughts
TravelEase isn’t just about booking, it’s about making travel feel calm and controlled. I loved crafting a visual identity that blends luxury and utility with motion-infused microinteractions to create a sense of ease.
