Project Title: Improving UX in Decentralized Crypto Wallets

Project Goal: To redesign the user experience of a decentralized crypto wallet to make it more accessible and intuitive for non-crypto-savvy users.

Timeline: 3 weeks

Description: This case study explores how to simplify the onboarding and interaction flow of decentralized crypto wallets for users who are unfamiliar with blockchain and DeFi tools. I started by identifying common pain points around private key management, confusing terminology, and complex wallet interfaces.

I conducted user research to understand where non-technical users often struggle, and proposed design solutions grounded in clarity, guidance, and familiarity. The redesign focused on reducing user anxiety, increasing trust, and bridging the Web2–Web3 experience gap.

Most Blockchain interfaces are not user-friendly and require some tech knowledge or background. In case of mass adoption, it is necessary to lower the barrier to newcomers. Some decentralised crypto wallets have tough and confusing onboarding process, while some don’t even have onboarding process.

During my research process, I read a lot of articles and watched some videos to understand people’s opinions about some of the decentralised crypto wallets to avoid dwelling on my own assumptions. I also spoke to a few persons, I asked what they know about decentralised crypto wallets, if they’ve used a one before, if they’ve had any issue using it, and how they think it can be improved.

After the first iteration, I tested my design with a couple of users and applied their feedback to it. The final work takes into consideration some of the changes they suggested.
