Brady Campaign 🟣 Social Media Manager

Robyn Craig

Social Media Manager
I previously worked for the Brady Campaign, the nation's oldest gun violence prevention organization. The Brady Campaign was founded by gun violence survivors Jim and Sarah Brady to pass common-sense gun violence solutions. In my role as their social media manager, I was responsible for sharing this information on a variety of social media platforms.

What was the strategy of sharing this information online?

We would focus on sharing content that talked about current events, upcoming Brady Campaign events, uplifting other organizations, and more on their 13 various social media accounts.

12 different accounts? How are they all different? 📲

Yes. The Brady Campaign has accounts on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. Content on Brady's social media accounts focused on current events and adult survivors of gun violence. This would include creating Twitter threads, Instagram carousels, and detailed Facebook posts about new legislation, gun violence survivors and victims, and upcoming events. Additionally, I ghostwrote social media posts for Brady President Kris Brown's Twitter account, which I managed.

What about the other accounts?

Brady has two programs, Team ENOUGH and End Family Fire. Their Youth-led program Team ENOUGH aims to amplify the stories of youth gun violence survivors. Working with the Team ENOUGH Executive Council, I would create content for their Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and TikTok accounts. The End Family Fire program focused on unintentional shootings and safe gun storage. Using Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, I would share content created with the Ad Council.

Wow, how in the world did you manage each account? 🗒️

I would use tools like Sprout Social to schedule content, keep track of analytics, and make sure everything is up to date.

Did you collaborate with other people at Brady? 🤝

Yes! In addition to collaborating with other departments, I would also work with gun violence prevention organizations, local politicians, and gun violence survivors and their families. Together, we would ensure that all information we shared was accurate and a true reflection of the survivors' or political leader's story.

Can I check out some of the accounts? 👀
