Stylized Sword & Shield — Game-Ready Hero Prop Set
A fully stylized hero prop set consisting of a sword and shield, designed with a hand-painted, vibrant aesthetic on top of a standard PBR workflow. This project handled the entire pipeline end to end — modeling, texturing, and real-time presentation
The Brief
The goal was to design a striking hero weapon set with a bold, hand-painted look, while expanding into new parts of the technical pipeline — baking in Marmoset Toolbag and presenting in Unreal Engine for the first time.
Low-poly modeling and high-poly sculpting were both done in Blender, followed by efficient UV unwrapping in RizomUV.
Texturing
Texturing was done in Substance 3D Painter, combining a standard PBR workflow with hand-painted details — the first deep dive into hand-painting technique on this project, aimed at achieving a vibrant, stylized aesthetic.
Emissive Details
To make the rune engravings feel magical and alive, an emission map was authored separately, letting the runes glow independently of the scene lighting.
Result
A vibrant, hand-painted hero weapon set built on a full PBR pipeline — from sculpt to bake to real-time presentation — ready to slot into a stylized game environment.
Final Render
Texture maps were baked in Marmoset Toolbag, and the final real-time presentation was set up in Unreal Engine — both tools used for the first time on this project as part of expanding the technical toolkit.
