Lots of students, at the end of their Bachelor's, find very difficult to find the perfect Master degree which fits with their interests and skills. In addition, they do not understand which are admission criterias. Based on this observations, it has been decided to deepen the topic.

Problem & Solution 🤝

Using an algorithm, which matches students and masters basing on interest, skills and how much the admission criterias are met, users can receive a feedback about the compatibility with degrees they are looking for.
Goals/Requirements • The website should be a third-part one, it is more unbiased (no competition between universities) • It should solve students' needs • Quick and easy to use

Process 🛣

The first step has been the benchmark. In Italy, it does not exist a website or application which can computate the matching. In addition, information about the degrees are scattered around different sections and difficult to understand because they are too formal. For more details about what kind of details and functionalities should be in the website, it has been done an informational and functional perimeter, using the main competitors found before.
The next step was interviewing users and gathering data. The sample was very limited, so data has been integrated with researches done by bigger entities. From this phase, it has been found out that:
There is lack of trasparency about what students will study and what they will become attending a degree. Moreover, information are difficult to find and understand;
Points of view from different people are requested for taking the decision to apply or not to a degree, especially from students who are attending or have attended;
University orientation is poor. During Open Days, lots of important information miss, in spite of questions from people.
Using the gathered data, four personas has been made.
Anna knows everything about the domain, from what she wants to study to how to apply to the chosen degree. She just needs to find easily the details about when and where make the apply.
Barbara knows what she want to study, but she does not know how the applications works. She needs to understand easily how to apply and if she can meet the admission criterias.
Bryan knows in which field he wants to study and how the apply works, but he does not know which specific degree to choose because he has lots of options.
Caterina does not know anything. She needs to be guided through the decisional process, from the start to the end. She just knows she wants to continue her studies.

Results 🎁

Using a matching algorithm, everyone can find his path. Moreover, users can filter by location, field of study, opportunities and benefits like scholarships.
Every degree has his own detailed page, where information are written clearly and, if the user wants to, he can go the official page of the university using links. There can be seen also the compatibility, but with every information that leads to show a high, medium or low level.
