Research & Discovery

To understand the operational challenges facing hotel quality management teams, we conducted comprehensive user research across three organizational levels: property staff (n=12), QA managers (n=8), and executive leadership (n=5). Through interviews, workflow shadowing, and surveys, we mapped the complete audit lifecycle and identified critical bottlenecks in current processes.
The research revealed that 65% of audit time is spent on post-inspection administrative work rather than actual quality assessment. Our findings prioritized features that eliminate manual data entry, enable real-time collaboration, and provide instant actionable insights—ensuring the platform delivers measurable time savings while improving audit thoroughness and follow-through rates.
I developed the Information Architecture to organize the platform's content and features logically. This ensures that users can easily navigate the system, find relevant information quickly, and have a seamless experience interacting with the platform.
The property dashboard provides a real-time snapshot of hotel performance and recent audit activity. Quality managers can instantly view key areas (Lobby, Rooms, Restaurant, Pool) with direct navigation to each section.
The question details view provides complete context for individual inspection items. Users can review the question text, add descriptions, attach reference photos, and configure answer options (Required comment, Required attachment, Disable N/A).
The checklist details view provides the complete template structure for quality audits. Users can review all inspection questions, configure question types and importance levels, add tags, and manage options.
This dashboard transforms audit management from chaos to clarity. Quality managers can monitor all active and completed audits across their entire property portfolio in one unified view.
