Greenleaf Medical Clinic is a Canadian virtual medical clinic specializing in medical cannabis assessments and patient care. I worked on improving the clinic’s organic search presence through ongoing SEO strategy, website optimization, keyword research, and long-form educational content.
The goal was to increase Greenleaf’s visibility in Google search, strengthen existing content, and create an SEO-focused content strategy that could consistently bring relevant users to the website.
The Challenge
Greenleaf had an established website and library of educational content, but there was significant opportunity to improve how that content performed organically.
Rather than simply publishing more articles, I focused on making the existing website and future content more intentional from an SEO perspective.
This meant identifying search opportunities, improving on-page optimization, strengthening content structure, and developing articles around topics people were actively searching for.
My Role
I managed SEO and content optimization across the Greenleaf website, including:
Keyword and search intent research
SEO content strategy
Long-form blog writing and editing
Existing content optimization
On-page SEO
Page titles and meta descriptions
H1, H2, and H3 structure
Internal linking
Content formatting and readability
Website copy optimization
CTA optimization
Ongoing performance monitoring through Google Search Console
SEO was incorporated into the entire content process, from deciding which topics were worth pursuing to structuring and optimizing each article for search.
The Strategy
I focused on creating and improving educational content around relevant medical cannabis topics while aligning each page with a clear search intent.
Existing content was reviewed for opportunities to improve keyword targeting, structure, internal linking, metadata, and overall usefulness.
New content was developed around topics that could build topical authority for Greenleaf while answering the questions potential patients were already searching for.
Rather than treating SEO as a one-time website task, I approached it as an ongoing combination of technical optimization, content strategy, publishing, and performance analysis.
The Results
The strategy produced measurable organic growth.
Over the optimization period, Google Search Console data showed:
Clicks: 443 → 2,808
Impressions: 31,287 → 56,000
That represents an increase of approximately 534% in clicks and 79% in impressions.
One targeted Greenleaf page also moved from approximately position #18 in Google search results to position #4 within three months of optimization.
Moving from position 18, typically on the second page of results, to position 4 placed the page prominently on the first page of Google for its target search.
The Outcome
The project transformed Greenleaf’s blog from primarily an educational resource into a more strategic organic acquisition channel.
By combining SEO research, content creation, optimization, and ongoing performance analysis, I was able to increase search visibility, generate significantly more organic clicks, and improve rankings for priority content.
The work demonstrates how a consistent SEO and content strategy can compound over time, turning existing website content into a stronger source of organic traffic and brand visibility.
