Annie Wedgewood owns Altitude Real Estate in Rock Springs, Wyoming, where she leads a team of six agents. She is also the 2025 President of Wyoming REALTORS. Her buyers needed to search homes across the markets her agents serve, and her agents needed a site they could send people to with confidence. I built it on WordPress with live listings from all three of those markets. See it live at altituderealestate-wy.com.

Annie and I were introduced by Nicole Novotny Smith, CEO of Wyoming REALTORS, after I built the association's new site.

The requirement that shaped the build: three markets

IDX is the feed that puts MLS listings on a broker's own site. Annie's brief was clear: buyers had to be able to search every market her agents work in.
Mapping that requirement against the IDX providers showed the catch. The first option I looked at covered two of her three markets. The third, the Teton Board of REALTORS, mattered as much as the other two, because a buyer searching there would otherwise find nothing. So the build moved to IDX Broker, which covers all three.

Two systems, one look

IDX Broker serves its search and listing pages from its own subdomain, styled in its own admin panel. So I styled two systems at once: WordPress and Elementor for the site, IDX Broker for everything a buyer sees while searching. A buyer moving from the homepage into results should never feel they left the brokerage.
Altitude had a logo and no brand guide, so I pulled the palette from the logo (a deep maroon, a dusty rose, a warm off-white) and carried it through both.

What shipped

A homepage with property search, an about page and a contact form.
A page for each of the six agents.
A free Home Maintenance Checklist that collects an email address.
A community section and a link to a mortgage calculator.
The community section, showing the brokerage's ties to the towns it serves.

Keeping it right

I still look after the site, and most of that work is small and specific: contact details, agent titles, license numbers, plugin care.
One fix shows why it matters. One agent's listings weren't appearing, and the cause was a mismatch between the agent ID set in IDX Broker and the one the MLS feed used. I traced the mismatch and corrected the filter, and her listings came back.
